On Saturday October 14,2000 Sara's ashes were spread - as per her wishes - at her family's ranch in the Precipice Valley near Anahim Lake British C.olumbia . A monument was designed by Sara's father Lee - it is a bench facing a sword set into a granite stone with an inscription carved on the sword:

"SARA TAYLOR GIBSON

FEB 14, 1974 - JULY 17, 2000

UNTIL THE MAGIC RETURNS".

The bench and sword were placed where Sara had said she wanted her ashes spread. Many friends from the area and our family were there to witness and be a part of this moment. There is a fallen pine tree just behind where the sword now sits. It is called Sara's tree. Before it had been felled by lightning Sara , as a child, used to spend hours gazing at it. Sara's ashes were spread around the fallen tree, the stone and down the bank ...

On the following morning I (Brad) went alone up to the bench and sat for awhile. I was the first to return after yesterday. I wrote the following and would share it with you now:

A sword in a stone

a lightning felled pine

flowers laid by children's hands

and ashes, blessing sacred ground

The final funery rites

"as it should be".

- Brad Gibson

lightning fallen pine

brittle powder and dust

white ashes spread

already a part of the ground

The ritual is final

our love - eternal.

- Brad Gibson

The valley stirs

I smile

and say my good byes.

- love Brad
